I can honestly say that I love photography - I have since I was young. While the "magic" is no longer the same after the advent of high-quality digital cameras as it once was with film - there is still a great ability to create a powerful and lasting image for generations to come. I can only hope that my feelings towards photography show through in every portrait created for you.
Let's face it - the majority of people feel that going to a photographer ranks up there with going to the dentist. It likely goes back to all those portraits during your childhood with rushed, unnatural poses and people telling you to say 'cheese'. |
My philosophy about photography is a little different. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable - capturing your true personality - so that you'll love your portraiture. Newborns sleeping, infants playing, children acting silly, and families showing their love - these are the things that should be remembered.
Maternity and newborn sessions show a truly wonderous time. Maternity portraiture has come a long way over the past few years allowing every woman to express herself during this special time in any way she chooses. A current favorite is that of a white flowing body wrap that conveys a simple yet beautiful elegance. I'm very open to any ideas you might have and to any concerns you might have during this time. Be sure to let me know your favorite flower(s) to help personalize your portraiture.
Extra time is scheduled for maternity and newborn sessions. As a father of a small child, I'm well aware of the need to stop for cuddling, feeding and diaper changing breaks during even a short session. The extra love shown by the family during this time will show through to the final portraits. Newborns will benefit from being photographed in your home. That is where they will feel warm, safe and comfortable. There's no need to bring the little one out when I can visit your home during that special time. |
